Mary Magdalene is one of the most interesting figures in history. Few women carry such a storm of controversy as she. She appears often in the gospels of the Bible, by those closest to Jesus – each telling tales of her as a constant companion of Jesus. When His Apostles grew angry after she anointed Him with a whole jar of expensive ‘nard (spikenard), Jesus defended her, saying, “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.” (John 12:1-8) I am deeply inspired by her story, and my wish is for my Mary Magdalene Sacred Perfume Oil to embody the essence of sacred anointing as it was practiced during the birth of Christianity.
