My Limited Edition Fotini Perfume is the third and last in a line I am creating to honor the matriarchs who shaped my personal family, the magical women in my line on whose shoulders I stand. This, the third, is Fotini, named after my paternal grandmother, whose name was Fotini, which translates to ‘light of God.’ Fotini Perfume is created with ALL her favorite essential oil notes of rose for love, thyme for remembrance, ambrette seed for peace, geranium for strength and renewal, orris root for divine feminine strength, and narcissus for beauty; then Fotini is infused with a red jasper chip stone for strength, resilience, and unconditional love, which are the traits I feel my grandmother most powerfully embodied. She was a woman who saw her family disrupted by war and her home destroyed by violence. And yet, she never lost faith or resolve. Which is why Fotini is a resilience blend. Let her teach you how to walk the line between strength and grace, tenacity and tenderness. This blend is for you and your spirit, which might be weary from the travels of this year in particular. The deeper magic of my Limited Edition Fotini Perfume with Perfume Bottle

You will receive the following:

One (1) 17 ml bottle of my Limited Edition Fotini Perfume. My most important memories of my father’s mother come from him, as I never had the chance to meet her in person before she died. That is one of the great sadnesses of my life. But I know that I look like her, and I know that many of my gifts come from her and her mother, who were well-known medicine women in Crete before they died. When I started crafting perfumes decades ago, my father told me that seeing me blend and gather the flowers and oils reminded him of his mother, who used to make fragrant potions and balms for herself and those who came to her for healing. He told me stories of rose petals simmering slowly in warmed olive oil on the stove, releasing their fragrant scent into the kitchen that he could smell even when playing outside the house.

Fotini loved roses and herbs, growing her own when she could. I used thyme essential oil in this blend alongside Rose de Mai, which is a true and authentic rose. I also used five drops of a rare rose attar that a dear friend of mine distilled for me (I only had 10 drops to begin – so half of this magic is in Fotini!) Those oils mingle with a deep and sharp geranium to inspire healing and they dry down to ambrette seed to keep you grounded and strong, like her.
