You know I am deeply in touch with my Native American roots. The customs of my ancestors are a timeless and boundless gift to my spiritual practice. It is for their wisdom, their magic, their deep connection to both Earth and Spirit that I honor their traditions. This Harvest Moon candle is another offering in their honor; and a beautiful way for you to bring their energy into your practice.
The deeper magic of my Harvest Moon candle
Native Americans named each full moon of the year to coincide with certain seasonal activities that occurred around that time. The full moon that falls closest to the date of the fall equinox is called the Harvest moon. Historically, the Harvest moon gave a final glow of light to the fields from which farmers drew their bounty. The original people who inhabited this land would see this moon, and know that they had only a small remaining time frame to finish their gathering duties.
I created my Harvest Moon candle specifically to pay tribute to this gorgeous, first full moon of autumn. It is crafted with sheets of bright blue, summer yellow, and deep red colored beeswax, and anointed with my Full Moon perfume blend, with pieces of moonstone scattered throughout the beeswax.
