When burning loose herbs and incense, we always recommend using Charcoal Disks – they’re a quick, easy, and safe way to enjoy some aroma magic at home. Add them to any Sage Goddess incense order or purchase them separately if you already have incense at home. You’ll receive a set of 10 disks that help infuse your sacred space with the fragrance and magic of burning incense.
The deeper magic of these Charcoal Disks
Did you know that incense was the first form of perfume? The word “perfume” literally means “through smoke,” and our ancestors used incense to scent their bodies. Ancient Egyptians and Romans would “perfume” the air with the incense they burned. They believed that the sacred smoke of incense would raise all surrounding vibrations and assist them in their magical practice. Burning incense is a great way to smudge and it connects us with the ancients in a powerful and beautiful way.
Charcoal Disks allow you to burn any dried herb, resin, or incense powder with ease. Simply place the disk in a heat-proof dish or bowl, light with a lighter until the disk sparks (30 seconds or so), and then put a pinch of herbs, resin, or powder on top. These disks stay lit for about 1 hour. When they’re done they turn to ash, for easy disposal.

These disks are absolutely perfect. They catch quick and burn amazingly. I use mine in a mini cast iron burning dish but put a little silicone mat underneath just to be safe.

Oh. My. Gods. I have my own charcoal. I by it in bulk. Thought I had pretty good stuff……then SG included two discs of this in with my Boom Shiva and holy cow it is as if I never really had discs before. This ignites and fully heats to red hot super fast. I always wondered how Athena put her herbs on so fast b/c mine took a little bit to full heat up. I also noticed that my herbs burn better and longer so I use a lot less.
