These gemmy lepidolite scarabs are a very special offering. Beetles are talismans of the Egyptian god Khepri, whose name means “becoming.” Khepri reigns over rebirth and dawn in the Egyptian pantheon, and is often depicted as a man with a scarab head; this beetle and its deeply divine meaning are also in his domain. The scarab was revered for many reasons. One, because of the way it reproduced, walking backward as it rolled its eggs in dung, from which the offspring would later hatch and be born – from beneath the dark ground, to emerge in the light.

In that sense, Khepri and the scarab beetle represent sunlight, fertility, and the new life that can come from the shit (for lack of a better word). These beetles are a beautiful reminder of life’s natural, balanced cycles.

The magic of gemmy lepidolite scarabs

Upon closer inspection, ancient Egyptians took notice that the scarab beetle appeared identical in shape to a top-down viewpoint of the brain. Thus, they were considered a connection to the beyond, to the divine. And this portion of the human head became sacred, as if a channel between the lower body and the heavens. In burial, a scarab beetle would be placed upon the entombed person’s heart for ease of passage into heaven, or paradise.

And carved from lepidolite? Lepidolite dissipates negative energy — none can sustain in its presence. It is a stone that aids our physical and emotional bodies, as it provides peaceful sleep, promotes rest and recovery from illness, regulates moods, and eases anxiety. Lepidolite soothes and harmonizes our feelings which can lead us to feeling more settled, more serene.

Place your scarab upon your Crown Chakra during meditation, and ask it for connection to the god Khepri – that he may bless you with light and fertility. When not in use, display yours on your altar as a beautiful piece of art and ancient magic.

This listing is for one (1) gemmy lepidolite scarab. Yours will arrive lovingly parceled for your enjoyment along with a card explaining the properties of lepidolite.

Love,

Athena
