Septarian was created about 50 million years ago due to the combination of organic matter with molten rock. It’s a unique blend of aragonite, calcite, and limestone. The calcite and aragonite were formed due to the remains of fossilized marine life, while the limestone formed from the accumulation of mineral deposits.
