If you’ve been with me for a while, then you might remember the Month of Magic: Hermetic Principles series. These Hermetic Principles Plaques feature the great Hermetic laws, the teachings of Thoth, the god of wisdom, magic, and writing. Each plaque has the seven symbols from each principle printed on a beautifully handcrafted wooden hexagon. The deeper magic of these Hermetic Principles Plaques

The great Hermetic principles or laws are the teachings of Thoth. Thoth is also known as Hermes or Mercury. The Hermetic teachings are believed to have originated from the Emerald Tablet in ancient Egypt. Today, they’re published in the book “The Kybalion.” These secrets are like doorways into new ways of thinking, being, and acting that allows us to work with energy and transform our lives. Just as the alchemists of old, we too can create and transmute matter. Matter is densified Spirit. Spirit is eternal and unchanging, but its forms are forever changing and transforming. This magic is not reserved for the elite or spiritual guru – it’s for anyone who chooses to learn and harness the language of energy.

The seven Hermetic Principles are:

Mentalism. The Universe is a mental creation of the All or collective consciousness. Mentalism embodies the understanding that everything in the universe is created by thought or mind.

Correspondence. There’s always a connection and correspondence between planes of existence. Everything reflects the same thing at the cellular and atomic levels. As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without; As the Universe, So the Soul. There is always harmony between the planes and the same laws apply to all.

Vibration. Everything is in constant motion, whether the motion is perceived. Everything, including thought, emotion, reason, and desire, has a vibration. The only thing distinguishing one form of manifestation from another (matter, energy, mind, and spirit) is the difference in vibration.

Polarity. Everything is dual – all manifested things have two sides or two poles that we call opposites. It teaches that all truths are but half-truths. Every extreme has an equally valid extreme. Opposites are made of the same energy or nature but differ in their degree.

Rhythm. Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates. Everything has a flow.

Cause and Effect. Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation but nothing escapes the Law.

Gender. Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes. Gender embodies the understanding that Masculine and Feminine principles are present in everything, on all planes of life.
