For those of you that partook in my last aromagic class, you know that I promised I’d search for Osha root and, well — here it is! This extraordinary root can be used a number of ways, and is a powerful tool for healing and strengthening your respiratory system.
The magic of this raw osha root
Often referred to as “bear medicine”, osha root is eaten by bears in the wild for its natural medicinal power. Native Americans have also historically used osha root for a number of healing purposes. They would often burn it as a sacrifice for protection against danger, or wrap the roots in leaves and place them near newly born babies to cleanse the air that that they breathed.
Place this raw osha root on your alter for protection, or burn as mentioned above. The osha root’s anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties are what make it such an incredible tool for treating respiratory conditions such as coughs, colds, and the flu.
