Roman Full Moon Set: Festival of Torches

In ancient Rome, a large festival was held during the August Full Moon, honoring Diana – goddess of the moon. This festival was called Nemoralia, also known as the Festival of Torches. Torches and candles twinkled through Diana’s Road as the Romans carried them to the sacred, dark waters of Lake Nemi where the moon reflected on the water like a mirror. Women and girls weaved flowers through their freshly washed hair and bodies like wreaths. Dogs, who were also adorned with flowers, accompanied the hunters and huntresses. Boats, lit with oil lamps ferried the Romans across the lake. Those who honored Diana left behind prayers and wishes written on delicate ribbons tied to trees, and gifts of fruits, votives, and statues. While men and masters did participate in the festival, they were required to be on equal terms with women and slaves. Every person and animal was free. Hunting was forbidden, as goddess Diana was also regarded as the Mistress of the Beasts – amongst her many other titles. For one night, hundreds of worshippers gathered in love and harmony as Diana blessed them through her radiance.

The tools in my Roman Full Moon Set: Festival of Torches

Each set comes with:

One (1) 6 oz poured Nemoralia Candle, hand-poured with carnelian orange-red soy wax, topped with crushed rose petals and clove powder, and blended with my Huntress Perfume.

One (1) 15 ml Huntress Perfume with rich and fiery notes of opoponax, rose, and fire – perfect for any huntress. We even added rose centifolia for an extra boost! Each bottle is infused with a clear quartz chip stone to further amplify its properties.

One (1) Flower Crown (about 8”) which will come in varying colors, intuitively chosen for you!

One (1) Infused Hair Masque (about 1 oz). One of the traditions of Nemoralia is to wash your hair and put flowers in it. Our infused hair masque will illuminate your gorgeous locks – it’s the perfect addition to this timeless tradition. Blended with coconut oil, aloe vera, and jasmine, these infused hair masques are a sensual experience of their own right. Leave the hair masque in your hair, concentrating on your ends, for 5-15 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly with cool water.

You will also receive one (1) stone set which includes:

One (1) tumbled pink petrified wood (about 0.75”).  An extremely grounding and protective stone, petrified wood calms the nerves and instills courage, well-being, and security. Its pink color is attuned to the Heart Chakra and brings forth energies of love.

One (1) tumbled tree agate (about 0.75”). Tree agate contains the ancient energies of the forest, the wisdom of the tree people, and the grounding of Earth. It is THE stability stone. I like to think of tree agate as the grandmother, as its energy is very similar to the grand-matriarchs in our families – those who hold, nourish, and support us. This stone will keep you settled, calm, and grounded in the most gentle, nature-based, and earthy way.

One (1) tumbled chrysocolla (about 1”). A stone associated with the empowerment of feminine energies, chrysocolla helps you summon the courage necessary to express yourself freely. This gem helps you to communicate what you need to with enthusiasm, wisdom, and force of spirit.

One (1) purple thulite (about 1”). The stone medicine for free speech, extroversion, and authentic living, thulite helps you come alive and connects you with others.
