AroMagic is my course on aromatherapy and herbal magic. This year, we are exploring “A World of Magic”, where I take students through a spiritual exploration of global civilizations and meta-cultures. Each month, we learn about the herbs and essential oils of a different civilization. Our exploration spans from ancient to contemporary times. Together, we tap into the power of these herbs and essential oils, infusing our own modern practices with their ancient magic. Included in our discovery are each culture’s traditional culinary and medicinal practices, and the associated myth and lore.

This set includes the oils and herbs that accompany September’s AroMagic class. Essential oils carry the energetic properties of the plant they were extracted from. Working with these sacred tools will deepen the medicinal energy of the plant through the power of aromatherapy. This is where the olfactory system, which is linked to our deepest subconscious, comes in. We literally tap into our deepest memories through the power of scent. September 2018 AroMagic Set: Herbs and Oils for Cutting the Cord

This September, we will explore Ancient Rome – a culture with an unshakeable belief in the power of spirits. They believed spirits to be supernatural forces that inhabited every facet of their lives, including people. Romans participated in the sacred Festival of Lemuralia every year – the Roman Day of the Dead – where they would honor spirits with offerings. While the Festival of Lemuralia traditionally takes place in May, it still holds a great significance for the sacred traditions surrounding Mabon and Samhain. The herbs and oils that were used during the Festival of Lemuralia are also reflected in this AroMagic set. May they raise your vibe, cut any negative spiritual cords, and offer a little extra protective padding as we dive deeper into shadow season.

I won’t reveal too much here, because we will be exploring the properties of these botanicals more deeply in our classroom this September, but I can tell you this is a special opportunity you absolutely won’t want to miss!

Included in this set are the following:

One (1) 5 ml bottle of violet leaf absolute essential oil. In ancient Rome, violets had many uses. Romans made wine from violet blossoms, used its oil for love and protection, and scattered its leaves around tombs as symbols of innocence and modesty. It is believed that the leaves of the violet absorb evil spirits. Violet is considered the flower of Italy to this day. Please note this oil is 10% fractionated with coconut oil.

One (1) 5 ml bottle of blood orange essential oil. The uplifting vibrations of blood orange have given it a reputation as a powerful mood elevator. Its oil invokes feelings of protection and facilitates the flow of suppressed emotion. Blood orange also opens the Throat Chakra and promotes communication. The blood orange tree appears in the works of Bartolomeo Bimbi, a prominent Italian painter. Blood oranges were eventually brought to America by both Spanish and Italian immigrants.

One (1) 1 oz tin of rosemary leaf. Rosemary is protective and cleansing. Traditionally, it has strong ties to the Roman goddess, Venus, and when burned, will purify and cleanse your spirit and space. Rosemary can also be used to cleanse your tools and gemstones.

One (1) 1 oz tin of olive leaf. Olive trees are native to Mediterranean regions. They are a symbol of peace, friendship, patience, and immortality. The olive tree is also a symbol of tradition and witnesses of eras gone by – the dead were often decorated with its leaves. In ancient Rome, olive tree traders dedicated a statue to the temple of Hercules. In Italy, there lives an olive tree that is about 3500 years old.

As a bonus to this kit, you will also receive one (1) dram of Anima, a blend of Roman chamomile, cypress leaf, juniper berry, vetiver, and geranium. These are the potent oils of the spirit, as Anima literally translates to “soul”, “core”, “heart”, “ghost”, or “center”.

**Not all items in this set are from the civilization of focus. Where possible we gather items from the civilization of origin. However, when this is not possible, we gather items that we believe reflect the energy of this civilization. Athena will discuss in class which items are sourced from the country of focus, and which ones simply reflect or represent the energy of this civilization

This product is intended for aromatherapy use. For all other uses, dilute in carrier oil. Store tightly closed and away from direct sunlight.
