Happy Earth Day! 6 Ways to Celebrate Mother Earth

You may know her as Gaia, Pachamama, or Terra. However Mother Earth manifests in your own world, we owe her many thanks for this life. She is the creator of every single thing we require for nourishment, wholeness, and happiness.

What abundance you enjoy was a gift from Mother Earth’s sacred lands, and so, we exalt her majesty today. By giving thanks and showing our respect, we invite her to bless us with even greater abundance. Here’s 6 simple ways you can show your gratitude to Mama Gaia:

  • Plant Seeds or Start a Garden: Depending on the space and soil, you can plant anything — fruit trees, flowers, herbs, and veggies. It’s a beautiful way to thank Mama Gaia, while also bringing her nourishing energy into your diet and life.
  • Listen to the Sounds of Nature: Tune into the sounds all around you — the birds chirping, perhaps a body of water nearby or the wind rustling through the trees. Every mindful moment of appreciation is a ‘thank you’ to Mother Earth.
  • Put your Barefeet in the Dirt: The ground we walk on is a direct connection to Gaia. Venture outside and stick your toesies in the dirt. Almost immediately, you’ll feel that comforting earthy embrace.
  • Participate in a Grounding Meditation: Visualize an energetic connection, or grounding cord, dropping from your aura all the way into the core of the planet. Really feel into that link with Mother Earth, pouring gratitude into your connection.
  • Take a Hike or Walk Outside. Notice new saplings blossoming, the crunch of the ground under your feet, or the warmth of the sun. There is such intricate and complex design all around us to appreciate and enjoy.
  • Work with Earthy Crystals: Crystals are a product of the Earth, created over millions of years. Some gemstones provide a direct connection to Mama Gaia, letting you carry her energy with you (even in cities)! A few we love are tree agate, petrified wood, and rainforest jasper.
